Brooklyn is married to an American professional tennis player Andy Roddick.
There’s a common rumor that Andy Roddick was flipping through a swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated when he first noticed Brooklyn. But the truth is Andy first saw Brooklyn on She Says, Z Says NFL show and was impressed by how well she knew football and sport in general. The pair first met after Andy asked his agent to track down a number for Brooklyn.
The two had been dating since at least the 2007 Davis Cup, and on March 31, 2008, Andy announced on his website that he and Brooklyn had become engaged.
The couple were married in a twilight ceremony in Austin on April 17, 2009. The couple exchanged vows in an intimate candlelit ceremony before a group of close friends and family. At the ceremony, bridesmaids wore strapless, chocolate-colored gowns, and the setting was decorated with bright, tropical flowers. The bride’s gown was by Vera Wang. Guests – including tennis greats Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi – were also treated to a musical performance by Roddick’s longtime friend, Sir Elton John. The wedding was followed by dinner at Roddick’s local country club.
Here’s what Brooklyn said when asked about getting married at such a young age. “It wasn’t weird for me. My mom got married when she was 19, and my husband’s parents got married young — in their 20s. And both sets of parents are still together. We’re so lucky. We had that influence around us, and basically, it came down to the fact that neither of us had to get married. We both were successful on our own, we both had our own income, we both had our friends, but it’s just what we wanted. It was never part of my plan to get married young, but we did it because we really wanted to. We saw no other way.”
