From idea to execution, ten CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists redefine what it means to be an American original. In its November issue, Vogue magazine takes a look at where they’re coming from, where they’re going, and the actor and musician muses who inspire them most right now.

“I learned how to shoot a machine gun,” exclaims Brooklyn Decker, the 24-year-old model-turned-actress (and other half to tennis superstar Andy Roddick) who’s just finished filming Peter Berg’s high-octane, alien-invasion flick, Battleship out next summer, in Hawaii. “At one point, I was sticking my arm through a windshield shooting it, and I started bleeding. Everyone was like, ‘Just use it!’ ”

As Decker (pictured above with Ohne Titel designers Alexa Adams and Flora Gill) points out, the rough-and-tumble demands of working on a big summer blockbuster like Battleship are obviously miles away from the more sedate photo shoots she’s used to working on. But now that the former Sports Illustrated pinup has made a commitment to acting—first in this past spring’s Just Go With It, with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, as well as the upcoming 2012 pregnancy-themed comedy, What To Expect When You’re Expecting (“My character basically breezes through her pregnancy, which is really annoying to watch,” she jokes. “If I’m honest, it’s setting an unrealistic standard for myself and every woman out there”)—she’s started to relish the prospect of picking up at least a few bumps and scrapes in the name of getting a good shot.

“It’s fun to bring stuff like that home,” she continues.“They’re like battle wounds. Every time we filmed that scene over the next couple of weeks, they had to add blood and a cut to match me cutting my arm.”

It’s the time of the year when we learn who is the sexiest woman in the world from FHM and Maxim magazines. A few days ago Maxim revealed its Hot 100 anointing Rosie Huntington-Whiteley with the honor of the hottest woman in the world. In that list Brooklyn came in at No. 36. FHM announced its list of 100 sexiest women in the world today, and this time Brooklyn came in at No. 6 (behind Olivia Wilde, Megan Fox, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley). You can see full lists on Maxim and FHM sites.

At first, I just want to remind you that the best way to stay up to date with Brooklyn and site news is to follow us on Twitter. However, if you do not have such opportunity, I will make a weekly post here that sums up everything from the past week.

Brooklyn is featured in May issue of Cosmopolitan and April 18 issue of US Weekly and OK! These are just snippets but still worth checking out!

Elle Workout videos starring Brooklyn are now available on iTunes: Cardio Body, Workout Yoga, Beauty Sculpt. You can see some screenshots of the applications in our gallery.

In one of our previous posts we asked you to vote for Brooklyn at Esquire’s Sexiest Woman Alive competition. Brooklyn made it to the finals and was very close to repeating her 2010 result but unfortunately (for us) Katrina Bowden got more votes!

If you live in Berlin, you might be interested in the exhibition held at Camera Work from April 2 to May 7, 2011. Camera Work presents works of Russell James - never before seen nude photographs of the most beautiful women in the world including Brooklyn Decker. The photos were taken on the picturesque island “Necker Island” and were combined in a book accompanying the exhibition. You might want to check our gallery to get an idea of what these photos are.

And the last piece of Brooklyn-related news for today: this week ‘Just Go With It’ added $10.9 million to bring its foreign total to $76.3 million. It opened in first in Australia with $2.44 million. The movie’s top territory was once again Russia, where it eased 34 percent to $2.9 million. ‘Just Go With It’ has now made $180 million worldwide (domestic plus foreign) and will move in to Sandler’s Top Ten next weekend. Again, our congratulations!

Now to some site news. First of all, we have become Celebrity Site of the Day (April 9, 2011) according to Csotd.com, and we are very grateful for this award! Secondly, I have been updating some pages of the site during last week. We have many more icons added to our Icons archive. In the Media section you can also take our Quiz to find out how well you know Brooklyn, give your vote in one of our polls and/or choose your favorite Brooklyn outfit. Also, every day we add some missing photos to our gallery, that’s why it is always useful to keep checking Last Additions tab. That’s all for now, enjoy the updates!

Thanks to Marilyn Agency NY, Brooklyn’s agency, we have been able to add scans of a great spread in Cosmopolitan magazine Brooklyn did back in November 2007.

Also, if you are not following us on Twitter, you may not know yet that Brooklyn needs your votes in Esquire’s 2011 Sexiest Woman Alive tournament. She is in the Final Four now after defeating Kate Middleton, Bar Refaeli, Kate Upton and Adriana Lima. Currently she’s up against Erin Andrews. You can vote and support Brooklyn till Friday 11:59 A.M. Eastern. Brooklyn became Esquire’s 2010 Sexiest Woman Alive so why not helping her to do it again?

And finally, we received great news a few days ago that ‘Just Go With It’ passed $100 million in the domestic box office. It’s a great success for the movie, and we congratulate the cast and the crew, and of course, Brooklyn!

From the official press release: Plum Miami CEO Jerry Powers, together with Tom Scott, founder and co-chairman, have announced the launch of Plum Miami, a glossy, luxury lifestyle magazine with celebrity contributors Venus Williams, Ryan Seacrest, Brett Ratner, artist Kenny Scharf, hotelier Jonathan Tisch, and Tracy Mourning, wife of NBA great Alonzo Mourning.

Highlights of the premiere issue (March 2011) include an exclusive interview with cover subject, actress Brooklyn Decker who admits that, though married to tennis stud Andy Roddick, she has “Bieber Fever.” The sexy star and Sports Illustrated model — who claims she’s “boyish” — is in awe of her Battleship co-star Rihanna. Decker says, Rihanna is “so beyond” her –”she’s so worldly.”

You can see high quality version of the cover in our gallery!
