Super Bowl XLVI is just two days away, airing on NBC Sunday, February 5. One of the commercials airing during the big game will be for Brooklyn’s new film Battleship. A 15-second teaser for this new spot has arrived online, and you can take a look at this sneak peek below. The end of the spot will feature a tag directing viewers to Fandango’s mobile apps and www.Fandango.com/Battleship. There, fans can sign up to receive a special Fandango FanAlert, notifying them when Battleship showtimes and tickets are available in their area and entering them for a rare chance to win five years’ worth of free movie tickets.
If Peter Berg has his way, by Sunday night the New York Giants will be Super Bowl champions and there will be a lot more enthusiasm for Battleship, thanks to a 60-second spot that Berg and Universal will unleash during the first quarter. The first teaser got a “WTF” reaction as it introduced an alien component to a nautical theme culled from the venerable board game. Berg tells me that the the new long spot will introduce “more effects, more story and a bit more humor. Universal has spent generously for this, to show our aim to deliver major summer entertainment. The scope of the film will be apparent in the Super Bowl spot.” Berg’s influence is all over the commercial, including his convincing Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello to come up with the music for a spot which the studio won’t debut until game time. – Source
New character posters have debuted for the upcoming comedy What to Expect When You’re Expecting, based on Heidi Murkoff’s best-selling pregnancy self-help book. The posters feature the pregnant ladies in the film, along with a clever line from each of them. Below you can see the character poster featuring Brooklyn as Skyler!
Brooklyn is currently in Australia as an ambassador of BMW Magic Millions, and yesterday she was soaking up the sun at Surfer’s Paradise for one of the event’s horse races. PopSugar managed to ask the model-turned-actress a few questions about her upcoming projects, as well as how she and husband Andy Roddick like to unwind.
You’ve starred alongside some big names in Hollywood already, like Jennifer Aniston, Adam Sandler and Cameron Diaz. Does this make being on set nerve wracking?
Yes! I’m slowly getting more comfortable on set, but no matter how cool I try to act, I’m still shaking in my boots.
Battleship seems to be a departure from the light-hearted movies you’ve done in the past. How did you find working on a war film vs. romantic comedy?
Battleship was probably the best experience I’ve had on a film yet. It was so different from anything I’ve done, and the work I did with the military while filming made it so rewarding for me.
Your acting career is going from strength to strength, so does this mean you’ve hung up your modelling shoes entirely?
I haven’t done a modelling job in over a year! I loved the opportunities I got from modelling, but at the end of the day, working in film kicks my ass and that makes me the happiest.
You and husband Andy Roddick both live insanely busy lives — how do you switch off and what do you do in your downtime?
I’m a homebody in my downtime! I’m an outdoorsy girl. I love being away from it all and being active. I’m like a little kid.
What’s next for Brooklyn Decker?
Hopefully keeping my sanity! Both Battleship and What to Expect When You’re Expecting are coming out in May, and I’m filming an independent before they release, so it’ll be a very busy 2012 for me. I thrive in chaos, so I’ve never been happier!
She is a Sports Illustrated cover star and Victoria’s Secret model, but Brooklyn Decker thinks her career as a clotheshorse was a bit of a flop.
“It’s funny because as a model I wasn’t that successful,” the beautiful blonde Brooklyn Decker admits.
“I had fantastic people support me but I look at someone like Rosie Huntington (Whiteley) who is a supermodel. I never had that success.”
It’s a modest statement for someone who has been named one of the world’s sexiest and most beautiful women.
But successful or not, Decker, 24, the wife of US tennis ace Andy Roddick, is certainly making her mark in Hollywood, and she is working her “butt off” in the process.
Having made her feature film acting debut last year alongside Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in comedy Just Go With It, the stunning blonde has already followed up with two more big budget films, Battleship and What To Expect When You’re Expecting, which will be released in April and May consecutively.
“I have two movies that I’m so proud of that couldn’t be more different from one another, and I’m pinching myself because I really can’t believe I’m in either one,” the Ohio-born beauty says.
Actors from the upcoming feature film “Battleship” spoke to USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) and embarked Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 17 Sailors during a phone call to the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier Dec. 16.
Two fans aboard Vinson exchanged greetings and asked Brooklyn Decker and Taylor Kitsch a number of questions throughout the call.
Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class (AW) Rodel D. Mosuela, a Chantilly, Va. native, assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 81, asked Brooklyn about her experience working with major Hollywood stars and active duty service members on the set of “Battleship”. Brooklyn said it was like seeing two worlds, military and civilian combined.
“All the things that you do are very admirable,” she said as she addressed Mosuela’s sacrifice of leaving his family behind to defend his country. “Thank you for what you do.”
Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class (SW) Megan L. Catellier, an Indianapolis native assigned to Vinson’s Media Department, spoke with Kitsch about her experiences living on a ship and being on station after last year’s devastating earthquake in Haiti.
“I got the chance to be on the ground and take photos,” she said explaining her role as a Navy photographer. “I’ve learned to appreciate what I do.”
Both Decker and Kitsch sent their greetings to the crew by thanking them for their service and wishing each a happy holiday.
It’s been several months since the teaser trailer for Battleship was released. The new full-length trailer has debuted online today and will run in theaters in front of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. While the teaser trailer focused more on the cast, this trailer reveals the scale of the project and how big the movie is going to be! Watch the new trailer below!
